Labubu Series Guide: The Monsters Blind Box Lineups Explained
Share
You met the toothy little monster in our post on why Labubu is so popular, and you learned to dodge counterfeits with the Lafufu checklist. Now for the question we hear most at our booth: which series should I actually collect? πΉπ
Labubu belongs to The Monsters, a character universe created by artist Kasing Lung and produced by POP MART. Like our Sonny Angel series guide, this post maps out how the Labubu lineups are organized so you know exactly what you are pulling.
First: pendants vs. figures π
The most important distinction in Labubu collecting is format.
- Vinyl plush pendants are the fuzzy Labubu with the vinyl face, a keyring clip, and a loop for hanging on bags. These are the ones you see dangling from designer handbags all over social media, and they are the hardest-to-find format.
- Vinyl figures are fully sculpted Labubu in the classic blind box style β smaller, displayed on shelves rather than worn.
The plush pendant series π§Έ
The pendant line has released in numbered generations, and each one has its own personality:
- Exciting Macaron β the pastel generation. Soft macaron-inspired colorways that lean sweet and dreamy. This is the series that turned Labubu pendants into a worldwide phenomenon.
- Have a Seat β sitting-pose Labubu with an adorable slouchy posture. The seated design made them perfect shelf companions as well as bag charms.
- Big Into Energy β the vibrant generation, with bolder, saturated colorways and a chest-heart detail. Demand for this series has been absolutely wild since release.
Vinyl figure and special series πΎ
Beyond the pendants, The Monsters universe includes classic vinyl blind box figure series in seasonal and lifestyle themes, plus high-profile collaborations β including a Coca-Cola crossover series that collectors chased hard. Figure series typically follow the standard blind box structure: a set of regular designs plus a low-probability secret.
How Labubu secrets work π€«
Just like Sonny Angel and SMISKI, most Labubu series include a secret (chase) figure at long odds β often around 1 in 72 boxes for pendant series. Secrets are not pictured on the standard lineup art, and pulling one is the single biggest adrenaline rush in blind box collecting. This rarity is exactly why secret Labubu resell for multiples of retail β and why counterfeiters target them, so always run the Lafufu checklist on any "secret" being sold loose.
Which series should you start with? π
- You want the bag-charm look: any plush pendant series β grab whichever colorway generation speaks to you.
- You collect for the shelf: vinyl figure series display beautifully next to Sonny Angels and SMISKI β see our display guide for setup ideas.
- You love the hunt: pick one series and chase the full set, secret included. That is the collector's path. πΉ
One honest note from us: because Labubu demand is so intense, availability changes fast. Series sell out at every level of the supply chain, so when you see an authentic box in stock, do not sleep on it.
